The United States Game-60 and Game-30 National Chess Championships returns for its third year in a row to the Chicago North Shore. FIDE published the September rating list. Due to summer inactivity, Carlsen, Topalov, and Anand preserve the positions they had in the July FIDE rating list. World Championship candidate and the Good Will Ambassador of UNICEF Teimour Radjabov visited Monte-Carlo this month and met the legendary French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo. They spent some time together, drinking coffee and talking on various subjects. To Radjabov's delight, Belmondo explained that he likes chess very much and is an avid fan of the game.
